    Soggy start here too.

Hopefully it will put off a few more zombies from turning up to this 10k.

Undecided later, might find a quiet hill to go up.

Overcast and cool here but the roads look to be dry, not sure if rain is expected.

Happy father's day to all you fathers!

I got cards with "father" crossed out and replaced with "farter", or "domehead". I also got a lovely reproduction of Vermeer's most famous work, which is fab. I do like a bit of Dutch or Italian portraiture.

I think I can smell something being cooked for breakfast.

    Walk with mini and doge.

    Light lunch.

    Finish off gazebo/sunshade thing.

Watch Cruella on Disney with mini.

Early Daddy/mini dinner up at the Ivy offshoot in the Village.

    Feeling very lucky.

Off up to the North West again to retrieve junior for the final time as times up on her room in uni halls today. No early start though as she'll never be ready before mid afternoon. I guess my Fathers day treat will be a slap up Maccy D's at a service station...although I do get a bit of driving in today.

    Balance bike?

I got a hand print card from the boy and some picture frames of all of our hand prints and foot prints. Also got a frame with lots of photos from the day the littles was born in Feb (the match the one I already had for the boy).

Going to the local-ish garden centre/farm shop/cafe/adventure playground later.

Woke up thinking was the shots my idea after all of the wine and port had gone. Think it was, it meant the 1.5 hr ride home without morning tea or breakfast was painful.

Father’s Day so far is tidying up after the kids and cooking them breakfast

    Morning folks,
Traditional slow start is being enjoyed. Father's Day is lots of peace and quiet so far which suits me. Hope HD is going well, rather him than me. Enjoy your day everyone.

    I hope it's a titanium balance bike 😂
As regards the "kind of hill", talk about belittling your efforts. Pesky bloomin' kids. Love 'em.
Daughter is now up and gave me a card and some fancy cookies. Lad is away shagging, but had a card and beer delivered. Life is good.

Sunny but pretty cold day max about 9 and back down to about 4 at the moment. Stupid busy day, walked dog, swept up mountain of stuff outside that the black cockatoos had shredded from trees, and headed into town for a few hours visit. Did a few odds and ends on the way home, collected some firewood and got that going, did washing, fixed dinner for dog first, then me.

Now sat here trying to be calm. Failing a bit. OK, quite a lot.

Neurosurgeon visited OH today which surprised him (and me, wasn't there). I gather the reason was the pathology result had come through, and he'd decided to come in and arrange for a further MRI, which was scheduled and done this afternoon. It took a whole hour in the machine.

My dearly beloved is not that great with technical terms and stuff at the very best of times, and the surgeon speaks like he expects you to understand complex medical language. I've a feeling the OH has missed some - possibly quite significant - details. The bits he did recall and tell me weren't exactly encouraging to my mind. He's also missed the simple timeline facts that from the initial PET scan result he was immediately scheduled for the first MRI, and from the result of that he was asked to come in and see the neurosurgeon. That. Same. Day.

This is a small city and there's really not that many specialists available. This guy is regarded as probably the best of them by his peers, which is good, but normally getting to see him takes weeks, if not months. I was both pleased and shocked that we were bumped right to the head of the queue. Surgery was recommended and scheduled for less than a week away, done last Wednesday. Doc continues to be astonished that there were really no "obvious" prior symptoms given the size and location of the tumour he removed. Although he was pleased with the surgery outcome, given the gist of today's update and the extra MRI, I'm spooked.

So, I have a very nervous night, and I'm just not that good at pretending everything is fine.

He's all I have. He's all I want or need.

Sorry for the ramble and sh!t dump, folks. Writing this down just reminds me it's real and not some f^cking nightmare. I have to tell someone, and you lot are it for tonight. Thank you.

A sh1tdump helps. Like you say, just writing it down can help your mind. We always made mini write down her fears that would stop her sleeping.

Nothing more really to say or add. It's a sh1tty place to be, waiting for tests/scans/results on a loved one. My way of coping was to try and understand and learn all the medical jargon around my daughter's illness, so I could understand the implications of what they were saying, speak to them not exactly as an equal, but so they didn't have to dumb it down. Learned to change a gastrostomy PEG, administer IV/IM medication, do and record obs, cleaned up a lot of bodily fluids and worse.

I internalised everything, pretended it was all fine, drank too much. I don't recommend that course of action.

If you're really in a state, surely the docs would prescribe you a short course of low dose diazepam or similar to help with anxiety, maybe help you get some rest.

Hoping for the best for you guys all the way from over here. Vent all you need.

My moan for the day, to be taken with a massive pinch of salt given 'spinner's experience....

Mrs H³ has kerbed the passenger side front wheel to such a fcuking extent that she's torn the fcuking tyre. The car only has foam and an inflator, not a spare wheel. No use for a torn fcuking tyre.

Both passenger side wheels are already scratched to fcuk. We've had the car what, 5 months?

If I've told her once, I've told her a million times, you drive the car down the centre of the lane, not yourself. If you are in the middle of the lane, then the passenger side of the car is too far over to the left. Exacerbated by a fcuking unnecessarily massive fcuking car.

Instead of telling her "I told you so", I'm going to tell you lot instead. I told her so.

Yep I'm the same - I'd rather know exactly what to go research than have a vaguely simplified description.

I've some Oxazepam somewhere for just such occasions. Hate taking it, even though it works, and same for drinking. I've had a (small) whisky tonight, and that'll do.

Time I crashed. Wish I could sleep like the dog snoring in front of the fire here. :-)

So so sorry to hear dude - puts my ramblings of a shyteee day back into the pathetic damp cardboard box they came out of.

Please don't hesitate to drop a mail to some unknown dude on the other side of the world who you'll never meet - if I can help you unload/process anything at all by merely receiving a mail its what we're all about.

Don't worry - TDV has taken out every panel on the Anaconda, she managed all 4 wheels on the AMG, took out the Golf, the Civic and the Volvo twice, with the same underground carpark, on two separate occasions.

I once had the Anaconda completely resprayed. 30 minutes after I got it back the MIL drive it into a line of trolleys at Edwyns.

I fckng gave up years ago.

Much like I should have done with today.

Surprised they can stack so much on a vertical worktop.
Good luck with everything spinner, I've always said it's best to have two people at meetings with specialists like that. There is so much to take in and your head is in a muddle with everything going on so easy to miss important information.

@Wheelspinner so sorry you’re both going through this. Hope it helps to know we’re all rooting for you.

Father’s Day here was decent. Full English brunch, complete with black pudding, 13yo’s new guitar arrived, did a bit of pottering about, nice supper, cleaned the toilet and descaled the coffee machine. Pressies were some Ceylon teabags, a tie, a bottle of alcohol free wine and a cycling book. Content
