stuck headset bearing.
Hi everyone.
Ive tried to replace the headset bearings in my Canyon CF SLX road bike ( carbon) The bearings have been in about 5 years I think. The top bearing popped out easy - the lower bearing has disintegrated when removing it, leaving the outer metal race stuck in the head tube, and the inner metal race stuck on the fork crown. Well and truly stuck. Bike shops don't want to touch it.
I have no way of tapping the outer bearing race in the frame head tube from above, because the carbon butts up to it leaving no exposed upper edge to tap.
Any ideas ? Im thinking that buying a Dremel and careful trying to cut the metal race without damaging the carbon. ir is there another way? Any advice very gratefully received.

Hi
An internal/blind bearing puller might help. https://ebay.co.uk/itm/194153426207?hash=item2d34722d1f:g:i3AAAOSw1qxgq0~S
These are generic Chinese tools, so the quality isn't 1st class, but they're plenty strong enough for occasional use.0 -
I'd have thought the tool that removes the crown race would also remove the remains of the bearing from the fork.0

Nightmare. This guy goes about it with a pick, wd40 and lots of patience.

Dremmel is a last resort as its far too easy to damage your frame.0
