In my younger, crazier days I'd grab lifts off all manner of vehicles, lorries, buses, dustcarts, anything when careering around city centres for up to a 100 miles a day couriering. BTW I'm not talking predominantly flat London, but Nottingham, Bristol, Leeds, places that smash your knees to smithereens if putting in the miles.
With electric assist it isn't really needed anymore plus most of the bikes I ride are just too cumbersome to try those shenanigans these days, but I'd never rule out doing it again
Then again, how fast do JCB's go? Wouldn't it be quicker under ones own pwer?
I've seen enough videos of some nasty injuries and fatalities with diggers and other construction tools that i don't want to be anywhere near them on a bike or a construction site whilst they're moving. It really doesn't take much movement for them to kill you.

Once went through the back window of a car outside the Theatre Royal in Nottingham playing silly bu**ers
Two enormous blokes in the front seats knocked 7 shades of cr*p out of me as a result!
I didn't even need the car or the occupants to have the censored kicked out of me on a bike. I hit a kerb (cycle lane stopped abruptly with a kerb, i didn't notice and I had a car to the right of me so i couldn't change lanes. Face planted and knocked out the 4 front teeth.

Took most of my front teeth out in a motorcycle accident a few years back. I was due to have a load of work done just as the 'rona hit last March and have spent the last 9 months looking like Smeagol from the Lord of the Rings

Drafting them is dodgy enough.

I am not sure. You have no chance.
