Mtb bike shop visit tomorrow

Hi guys.
I’m booked into a bike shop tomorrow, booking due to covid 19 , I’m looking at getting a new mtb bike , budget 1-2k , it’s only for local trails nothing serious .
The shop in question only sell mtb’s Orange , Nukeproof , Lapiere etc , I’m aware my budget won’t touch some of these full suspension models but some hardtails will be in my budget .
I’ll be in the hands of the salesman tomorrow so any advice on components, what’s decent would be great .
I won’t make any rash decisions and will report back what he recommends.

Nukeproof only hardtail in budget from what I can see.

Personally calibre bossnut from go outdoors or go with paulscycles and get a giant trance.

I've ridden Cannock on everything from 100mm bso diamondback ht, Carrera Fury 120mm before they changed the spec and my current bike is a giant anthem with 120mm travel. If I was to buy again I'd be getting the trance as I'm riding more off piste stuff and could do with the bit more travel and comfort the trance provides. Have fun choosing, it's hard.
