    In a garden centre checkout line. Mature lady on checkout asks person in front of me "pardon me, did you say "multipurpose"?" (Hanging plastic screens between them.) She replies "No, didn't say anything".

    Now, I'm buying multipurpose compost, bags of, but they are already on vehicle, me just standing there to pay.

    My turn:
    Me: 'Multipurpose is what I'm buying, but I didn't say anything either"
    Her: "Must be mind reading then"
    Me: "Nah, it's the AZ chip working well..."
    Her: puzzled silence
