Wanted - sportive bike 56 cm

A friend just had his bike filched 
(older model black and white Cannondale Synapse 58cm with basic Bontrager wheelset I donated, if you happen to see it!) from his garage in Greenwich. Thieving sh!ts.
He's looking for a replacement. Preferably something comfy, sportive-style would be perfect, he's no crit racer! 105 level hopefully, and 56cm as he said his was on the large side (he claims to be a six-footer but is actually 5'11".
Open to all makes and models as long as it fits the criteria, not just the usual suspects, Spesh, Trek, Dale, etc. Alu works, carbon would be better.
I was considering a Boardman for him for best bang for buck.
Preferably Greater London area, he works in Victoria but he does see his mum in Kent sometimes like a good little boy, so anywhere along that corridor could work.
