    Hi,

    I've just replied for the 3rd time to a post from a fellow member and my post keeps disappearing from the board as soon as I edit a misspelled word.

    I've just tried to change my password. Despite using it 20 seconds before hand to login, i'm being told my old password is incorrect.... I've tried a few times. Hmmm....
    Intent on Cycling Commuting on a budget, but keep on breaking/crashing/finding nice stuff to buy.
    Bike 1 (Broken) - Bike 2(Borked) - Bike 3(broken spokes) - Bike 4( Needs Work) - Bike 5 (in bits) - Bike 6* ...

    Certainly seems that way. Oli has been online and must have seen the tags, but jeff the spammer is still spamming. Pretty clear that not even bikeradar gives a stuff anymore.

    Can anyone from Bikeradar explain to me why it is not possible to either put first time posters into a moderation queue, or to prevent first time posters from adding links to either their posts or signatures? Either or both of those things - I would have thought - would be very easy to initiate.

    Not helpful when you do a preview of your post and it fails to display correctly: most recently the failure of ordered & unordered lists to display at all.

    And of course it's even more annoying as you dare not just post it and see when you know that going back to edit it will get you stuck in moderation limbo...

    Fucks sake - is NOBODY from the admin team even remotely interested in this forum any more? DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FUCKING SPAMMERS! It's beyond a joke - it can't be outwith the with of man to simply set a moderation queue for new posters, or introduce a rule where three posts flagged as spam means an automatic ban, or even just ask someone who still bothers posting here to do it for you?

    I'll give it a week then I'm out for good - you've killed the community (though I suspect that was probably your aim all along as the forum doesn't make money... Kill the community then nobody is left to moan when you just shut it down)

    @oli_admin - you promised a lot of improvements/fixes after the initial 'upgrade' debacle. Is it happening or not? Or is this really as good as it's going to get?

    Petty but another example of poor functionality:
    If I post in a thread and return to the site before anyone else has, the list shows the thread as having 1 new post.

    Same here. No option in that section to add a post and from the main page, the buy and sell section is greyed out

    In terms of spammer control, I'm now manually approving any new sign-ups to this forum. It's not perfect but hopefully you've seen a decrease in spam posts over the last couple of weeks.

    Why on earth aren't you just using better forum software that can deal with things like this?

    Please, please take a look at something like Xenforo for what modern forum software should look like.

    My last thread in the road bikes section has completely disappeared - forum seems to be grinding down to a standstill

    Signatures - has the formatting changed recently or am I just noticing it now?

    I find it really off-putting that they are in the same font & size with only a thin light grey border and no gap from the main post.

    Yet another poor design choice that would be ridiculously easy to fix.

    As above. Also, the font size between a quoted post and the response seems identical, which makes differentiating each very difficult. Once again, you'd think this would be incredibly easy to fix.

    Looking at that, it does seem so. But the separation between quoted and responding comments is still a visual mess...
