There's something quite high-school-clique-twee about the way the little pro-brexit / pro-covid team always like each other's posts :)

Would you prefer it if I liked the posts I didn't like? For what it's worth I've even liked some of Ricks posts in the past.
  • I don’t get it
    Who is he?
Why has he linked these three old stories?
Why is it interesting that he has posted this?
Just a bit of a laugh at the U.K. attempts to go solo re its satellite programme
And he has only just found this out?

I still don’t get it. It is hardly like he has cunningly placed three unrelated stories next to each other for unexpected comedic effect

    Are they unrelated or old?

ahhhh - meant "related" as in it hardly makes him Sherlock Holmes to imply a link between them.

FWIW ditching May's idea should be on the list of positive things Boris has done for the UK

A short list. But at least there is one entry. 👍

So what was the Supreme Leader FatBo doing in Italy over last weekend? Not as if there are any important issues to be concentrating on at home are there? Or was he checking in with his paymaster stringpuller?

I thought there were people who'd seen him in Westminster abbey.

    Very weird story.

It is highly unlikely that the PM could go abroad without anyone noticing even on a private jet. So until I see some proof of this and no responses then it sounds like the claim is false.

Rabid leftie gets sucked in by fake news. It's not the first time, but that they are so easily hoodwinked should be a concern because of the risk they pose to society

It would have been all over the MSM etc if he had. I notice that Looney totally ignores the fairly concise Downing Street reply in the linked article which simply says "This claim is wrong."

I'm calling leftiebollox on this one in the absence of any evidence.

Surprised his lament that his £150k salary was impoverishing him didn't get traction here, rather than a did-he-didn't-he trip.

quite a long article in the Times about it, seems the source is an regular official communication from the airport about famous arrivals, Boris came below Luis Suarez but above Tony Blair. I assumed the denial is an outright lie or the time was 30 mins out.

Times also suggests this was when he had the failing Zoom call and he cancelled appts in London on Monday morning.

Ironically you can track all these things on Flightradar

I am going to vote for probably true - but so what as we will not have learned anything about our glorious leader that we did not already know.

So there was a private flight to and from RAF Northolt and Perugia on 13th Sept and back the next day, for those hunting for clues.

    FlightRadar! Fake news.

Anyways. One to add to the (v short) list of positive things that BloJo has achieved for the UK during his time as PM.

Renationalisation of the railways is underway. Though no doubt the bunch of incompetents will do it badly and at considerably more cost to public finances than necessary.

Always happy to help out the fanbois who oddly seem to struggle with listing any positive, other than the inevitable "80 seat Commons majority".

You would have thought now was a good time to resolve the structural issues that plauge UK railways, but alas.

Problem with these Trots is that they either have no memory or just want to reverse what Maggie did. Railways may not be perfect but they are a damn site better than they were.

So it's officially a nonsense story.

Guy didn't know his PMs so said he saw a UK PM (Blair), his boss went "who, Johnson?" and he went "yeah, sure, why not".

The not nonsense bit, which has got lost in all the fuss about a supposed dash to Perrugia, is the Chernukhins being the Conservatives' biggest donor.

Wonder how much that airport worker got bunged, or being Italy and Russians, got 'told' to change his story? 🤔
  • If people thought about it, it would be a very stupid lie to tell about being at Westminster Cathedral if you weren't.

the only thing that is shocking is how small the sums are. I think the biggest donor (Russian) has only given them £1.7m which is laughable compared to the billions Abramovich has spent on Chelsea and still found himself kicked out.

    Mmm suspect it's iceberg money...
  • Times reckons large parts of the Tory Party very unhappy with new restrictions. If they attack of the basis of bowlocks data from the testing shambles then he could be in trouble.

Boris is an interesting case study for SteveO's negative leftie theory. Has he become more negative as he became more left wing or has he become more leftwing as he became more negative?

Is it not more individualist vs collective perspective?

Right wing is individualist - focus on individual freedoms, at the potential expense to the rest of society - willing to have more deaths in return for own freedom

Left wing is more socially orientated - focus on the group as a whole, especially vulnerable, at the expense of individual freedoms - willing to have more restrictive individual life in return for fewer deaths

    It's all fairly obvious.

not sure what your point is as you are just using different terms to describe free markets as opposed to state intervention.

As I suggest (slightly tongue in cheek) if you live in a small state free market economy and you develop a more negative outlook on life then you are more likely to adopt policies that are traditionally seen as left wing. In this case a greater role of the state funded by taxation and borrowing.
