You know you don't own that model Nic.

No I don't. I didn't say I did. My point was to counter the implication that Decathlon don't do bikes with D.A. kit on them.

The question was 'I wonder where his experience of Dura Ace chains comes from'

By posting a link to that bike it looks like you are saying your experience of Dura ace chains comes from that model of bike.

You probably have zero experience of Dura Ace components and are as usual posting total cr@p.

All it shows is his experience of Duraace is oggling pictures of bikes. Its the same as reading the underwear section in a home shopping catalogue when you're 13. You know what t looks like but have never had any hands on experience :)

I think Eric may have departed (again). Six user accounts and now six bans. He must be in line for some kind of award.

Persistent trolling, most likely.....same as all the other times. He creates an environment where almost every thread he responds to gets called out and then turns into an argument. After six user accounts, it seems pretty clear that it's not happening by chance...

On the plus side, Decathlon do sell lightweight chains made by KMC :=) in their own packaging, with KMC stamped clearly on them. Almost a full circle conversation!

I quite like him though, hes harmless enough and spotting his idiocies is good fun.

As well as plenty of insults he's been genuinely offensive in the past, using terms such as 'mong which I haven't heard in about 30 years. The bloke is a nasty liar and serial fantasist.

No sorry - I'm with Brakeless on this. He can no longer defend himself so it's not fair to criticise, but I'll just say he is thoroughly unpleasant.

Despite all the sh*t he comes out with. I would love to go for one of those marathon rides with him. You could probably dine out for the rest of your life on it.

Far as I can see he doesn't do 'long' rides, just loads around 100km. Of course, that could all be fantasy bullshit as well... For all we know he might be adding a multiplication factor of 10 to every p1ssant commute he does on his 150 quid Decathlon bike... With its chain made of salad

I think by saying you own a Ford Shelby Mustang worth around 100k with a 20k number plate people may question your integrity

  • I have SRAM Red and KMC EL 11s, with Ultegra or KMC 10s, WInter bike has cheapest KMC 10s chain I can find on eBay at the time. I find no difference in function between any of them save for the shifting systems, so wondering now why I pay more for a gold or shiny silver finishes and a packet of crisps less weight...madness, like most cycling purchases. Thing is today I was out after putting the new cheapo chain on the 10s Centaur Winter bike and marvelled at how good the shifting was; began thinking it was better than the more expensive systems.

Well done Flanners. How refreshing it is to have a serious reply to the OP.
