What model/year Bianchi is this?

Hi there. Totally new to cycling. Wanted to pick up this bike on Criagslist, but the seller is not able to find the year/model info for me (she bought it for her son some time ago). I'd like to read up on some reviews before making the investment. Can someone help me identify this model?

The only other info she could tell me is that there's an "Alloy 7000" sticker on the bike. It looks close to a D2 Pista, however without the "D2" on the top tube. Also, the entire frame is a celeste green whereas I see that the fork on the D2 is black. Thanks for your help!

    That's a very small bike ?

Hard to see clearly but it's an older bike. Bianchi Imola maybe ?

How can she not remember how old her son was when she bought it ? A bit odd. It's not worth very much tbh.

Who cares what year it is? If it fits, if it works and if the price is right, that's all that matters IMO..

I'm only 5' tall, so I think a youth frame should fit me fine. I wanted to find out the model, and year, so I can negotiate fairly. She's asking $400.

Looks like a 2008 Special Junior. The old catalogues are here

I think you're right, Pooter! The catalog link was very helpful. Any advice on how much I should offer given the age of the bike? Or would I be better off buying a newer, but lower end bike? I'm looking to stay under $500 if possible. Thanks

Here's a price guide for the 2007 version.

It all depends on the condition. If it's been looked after and needs no new parts then buying second hand can be good value for money.

There's one on ebay where the seller gives an age range of 8-11 so perhaps too small for you at 5ft.
