Garmin and Wahoo attachment

Hi,
Garmin 520 is playing silly buggers so thinking of replacing it with the element bolt. Question on the fixings - from pictures it looks like the bolt attaches to the mount by a very similar set up... are they actually the same or slightly different?
Reason for asking is that I wonder if the element will fit into the Canyon specific out front garmin mount, which annoyingly I purchased just before the Garmin broke.

different mounts, but you can 'hack' the garmin mount to take a bolt.

It's dead easy to swap Garmin mounts to Wahoo compatible. Just need a pair of scissors and cut about half a milimetre off the grooves they clip into on opposite corners.0

There's also this sort of thing if you don't want a permanent change:

Pricey though and looks to lift the Wahoo too high up.
I was looking as I've a Barfly Direct Mini which can't really be bodged.0 -
Not too sure what the Canyon mount is like but I recently had this very problem with a Syncros integrated out front mount for the aero bars on my Foil. The mount was Garmin specific and cost about £40 so wasn't too keen to get rid of it (and of course there are limited options for mounts on aero bars).
I bought the K-Edge blue insert already linked but found it was a little too big for my mount, plus my mount has only 1 hole in the centre for a retaining screw (not 2 like the K-Edge) but there is a little notch on the side to stop the insert rotating when twisting the GPS unit into place.
I filed down the outer edge of the new insert (leaving a tab for a notch on he mount) and drilled a small hole with a countersink in the centre of it. It now fits pefectly and is very secure. If you take your time and keep checking as you go, it can be done.
Its a bit of a faff, but if the Canyon mount is anything like the Syncros one, its well worth a go.Scott Foil RC
