Not able to sprint on Tacx neo?

So my girlfreind's dad has a Tacx neo trainer and regulary uses zwift, last night he let me have a go on it.
I only had half an hour as he uses it every night, so 20 minuets in I went to go for a full sprint effort as we always joke about who can put the most power down, so just as I go to leap forwards, it was like it slipped and then basically locked on and took huge effort to turn the cranks over, it was only once I turned it off & on again it was ok?
I'm not a 2000W sprinter, I'd have put out 1000-1100 max, surely a turbo trainer like this should be able to handle that all day long?
Anyway, I didn't tell him what had happened but I'm not in any rush to get back on it if that's what happens when you apply some power.

Bonkers that this would be a problem on a £1k turbo. Quite glad I went for a dumb fluid direct drive one now.0

The linked thread mentions that high torque acceleration issue was addressed with improved firmware.0

I've done hundreds of sprints on mine with no issues at all. Sounds like a dodgy unit.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Can't say I've had this issue. Have never updated my NEO firmware (if it ain't broke....) but then again I'm not a 1000+ watt sprinter either!0
