Hi, just looking for some tips and advice on some hidden gems of places, bike shops, coffee, restaurants to visit.
I'm going for ten days training trip, staying in Los gigantes/la arena, have many good routes (hopefully) planned, including up to Masca & Garachico, to Puerto de la Cruz and the north of Tiede, to Playa de las Américas and up the south of Tiede (TF28 then TF21, not TF51 which apparently is bad for traffic(?)), and up and down the west of Tiede via TF38.
Anyway just wondering if there were any notable cafe/restaurants recommended around los gigantes or anywhere I might get to on a ride?
Also any recommended bike shops in case something breaks? (hopefully not needed!)
I'm keen for hidden gems with something special or local to experience, less so the 'Brits abroad' beanz n chips places I keep reading about but asssume dont really exist!
Thanks

Im in Tenerife at the mo until tomorrow in fact.
As the other person said Bike Point are brill. Put your measurement in as asked on website and they'll deliver the bike already set up. In fact All I had to do to it was tilt the seat forward and I was sorted. The bike came with all the things promised, tyres levers, multitool, tube and pump.
I have done 160 miles this week and 22,000 ft of climbing. Cycling up out of Los Gigantes towards the TF1 will kill you, sorry no point bullshitting!
The road to Masca is really twisty, very steep and gets bunged up with traffic as you can barely get 2 cars down there and if there is a bus or lorry you're looking at a big hold up, ask me how I know this!!!
This is the route I did up Mt Teide. https://ridewithgps.com/users/921264/routes and took 5 1/2 hours all told. The first 2 1/2-3 hours is the 28mile climb. The descent get very cold and very fast 50MPH+ with ice crystal hitting you in the clouds as you have to go though them.
I did't stop at any cafes on any of my rides but they are about if you look. Take an extra bottle of water every ride as it does get hot!
The drivers are very considerate towards cyclist and give plenty of room and I had no hassle at all. I even waved cars on to pass me on the climbs and the locals even bibbed to say thanks.
All the roads are good to cycle on too, so make your routes and check them on google maps and you'll be good to go.
I can send you the link to the other 2 routes I've done if it helps.0 -

Im ok on routes.
Does anyone know how friendly the bus service (titsa.com) is on taking bike boxes in the luggage hold?0
