Apparently Derby Arena which houses the velodrome is losing anout £750k per year, it was supposed to be breaking even by now. This could be a threat to the future of the track as the local authority can't underwrite those kinds of losses year on year.
What is the financial model for other uk tracks? Is it possible for them to bresk even or run at a much smaller loss?

If Derby is like my local council then it is no surprise the finances don't add up and probably were never going to. Lacking business skills, marketing and customer focus with a management structure populated by those progressing on the 'dead mans shoes' principles councils is no way to run an organisation.0
