Just been told the news I have to take a parcel to daughter who has just started uni.....does it ever end? The viewing area had been suitably prepped - now its a catch up situation later :(

Pfffft. Just say no. Even Little Baby Sagan is having to entertain himself today.

What’s the expected finish time U.K. time? Have a horrible feeling I’m hardly going to get to see any of this
  • This really is a great advert for Bergen, with the weather being glorious the city is being shown off in all its loveliness.

And another lovely day today! When the sun shines it's a really beautiful city. And the course shows it off brilliantly.

"When the sun shines" - shame they get something like 200 days a year of rain ;)

It's actually quite atmospheric in the rain too with the mist and the mountains.

Have been there in both, and know which I prefer!

I demand a full Commons Select Commitee and UKAD enquiry into the contents of this mysterious parcel. I can imagine what could possibly be in it and I have to say it's very damming.

Breakaway just rode over about 4 cartoon penises in a row, 164km to go.
  • I slashed a sidewall this morning, so my ride has been abandoned and I'm back home watching this

That's a bit of a drastic way to get out of a ride, couldn't you have just claimed knee-ache?

  • It's a fabulous spectacle in terms of the crowd and the weather.
The race is yet to start.

  • Isn't it the traditional time for the British riders to start abandoning?
  • This breakaway will get absorbed, then a slightly better break will take over.
Next up will be the breakaway containing "possible winners" before finally Sagan and co do battle.

Back to the Bergen loop, couple of easy laps then an early shower and dried and changed in time to watch the finish.

  • Something like this, give or take a lap or so:
5 to go: 2nd level roulers from teams with other options go
2-3 to go: top level roulers go
1-2 to go: Sagan, Kwia and classics specialists go

Right, just tuned in, have I missed Kirby saying someone is leading someone else out yet? Normally happens by now.

Ah! Thanks, I hadn't even thought to check if it was on on the beeb.

    So much better.

BBC coverage has been very good this week, they've really put together a good package.
  • So did GB send a team?

So did GB send a team?

If they were all over the front someone else would have posted criticising them for doing too much work!
  • I've been looking, may be wrong but I can't see a single GB member left in the peloton.
  • By the way, what was the selectors reasoning for not including Cummings?

    This is true.

I think they wanted team players. I'd have stuck Cummings in as a wildcard anyway for this parcours.

  • What a terrible decision. So they brought 9 team players and no one capable of doing anything. Just seen 4 of team Gb towards the back of the peloton.
