Kittel magically makes up 3 minutes in no time, which means going faster than the break.

    Roglic down!

Just slipped off the side of the tarmac. Tired and not paying attention, imo.

Just for info, to restate from someone else above, Roglic needs at least 21 points today to stop Barguil getting the dots.

Matthews steals the KOM points from De Gendt to help Barguil

Mathews just takes the Cat 3 points ahead of De Gendt to protect Barguil's jersey. Classy, and some real souplesse.
De Gendt has a friendly chat with him after, doesn't look too upset.

Matthews returns a favour for Barguil (his lead out man for yesterdays sprint finish) by stopping de Gent getting max KoM points.

De Gendt and Mathews keep going over the descent.

I have to say, Mathews has grown on me a lot this tour. Yeah, he's a bit of twat, but his riding has been superb.

    Right. Not missing this stage.

    Can we haz marmottes, AtC?

    I hopes so.

Sorry all I'm a bit late to the party as I was having an argument with a large duck.

Landa interviewed before the start, says Uran is the danger today (altitude).

Sagan being DQ'd could be a blessing in disguise for future Green Jersey competitions. I don't think Matthews would have been so aggressive if Sagan was here, but might be something he carries forward next year.

    Crash.
Stevo doing summersaults into the field, Kittel down, Barguil down - Kittle bike a bit broken

Yeah but did they kill a duck? It's not a proper crash unless you kill a duck.

Anyone in the West Amsterdam/Osdorp/Halfweg area who wants a dead duck, there's one in the canal by the Ookmeerweg.

God can you imagine! I'd have more than some road rash, a broken shoe and rips to my jersey and shorts.

Mathews and De Gendt working together, Mathews for the sprint points, but he's not going to be helping after that.

Yeah, but you wouldn't leave that quality beef in the canal.

kittel looks a bit bashed up :(

Glandon is one of the most lovely climbs in that whole area, it's not up all the way though, there's a switch back down for a quick break.

Can't help but think poor TdG got the raw end of this deal.

Hugely, unless he's just a stepping stone for a Gallopin attack.

Although that quick break is immediately followed by a bloody awful ramp of about a mile at over 10% IIRC!
