Bike hire in or near Megeve

Hi,
I'll be in Megeve with the family for the last week of July and I think I'll regret it if I don't try to get out for a ride.
Does anyone know of anywhere in Megeve or nearby to hire a road bike?
Also, I'm tempted to find a guide to take me out for a half-day ride. Any ideas for who I might be able to arrange that through? Failing that, any suggestions for routes out from Megeve would be very welcome. Up to 100km round trip would be perfect.
Thanks very much

Routes-wise you have a huge selection... some suggestions off the top of my head:
1. south to Flumet, then up the Col des Aravis, down to Thones, over the Col de la Croix-Fry, back over the Aravis and back to Megève = approx 85km / 2200m+
2. south to Flumet and continue all the way down the Gorges d'Arly to Ugine (NB this road is sometimes closed with diversion that adds on another small climb and 10km to the total route)... when in Ugine you have the choice of
- south over the Col de la Forclaz de Quiege then heading back towards Megeve via the Col des Saisies (option of the Montée de Bisanne that was in last year's Tour) = approx 80km / 2200m+
- west to Marlens, up the Col de l'Epine then on towards Thones and the Col de la Croix-Fry & Aravis, as above = approx 95km / 2200m+
- north up the Col de l'Arpettaz and then loop back towards Flumet = approx 80km / 2000m+
3. north to Sallanches and continue to Cluses, then over the Col de la Colombiere (optional via the Col du Romme), down to Grand-Bornand then back via La Clusaz and the Col des Aravis = approx 100km / 2200m+ (103km / 2500m+ if via Romme)
There are many more possiblities, by all means PM if you need more details (I live locally).0 -
That's really helpful, thanks both of you.0

I would be interested to know how you get on with the hire bikes... I haven't used either of the delivery companies in the post above.
AFAIK the shop that tourdriving listed in Crest-Voland doesn't have carbon frame road bikes, only alloy.
If you are really struggling then the Intersport in Grand Bornand has carbon road bikes for hire.0 -

I've emailed these guys as they offer half-day and day guides as well as bikes - https://alps-bike-rental.com/
I think I may have left it a bit late to arrange though. Will let you know how I get on.0
