I know the gradients aren't aggressive but NQ should be bossing this encounter.

Quintana needed to pull the gap way earlier. The gradient in the final KMs is quite steady, really favours Dumoulin.

    Zakarin's gained a bunch.

Landa does EXACTLY the same thing as he did the other day... Plonker!

Good for Tejay, he deserves it.

TJ winning sums up that stage.
Landa's second offering of the barn door.

Other than that: not much ado about nothing. :(

does Tejay win the "wheel sucker letting Landa do all the work and then beat Landa on the line" award?

Dumoulin must be content with losing no time to Nibali or Quintana and one less day to go

It didn't really look as though Landa's heart was in that finish, he looks like a broken man.

    Amateur hour from Landa again.

Great last few kms though, I switched to the commentary free feed and it was great being able to enjoy it without having someone shouting over all the action.

Four riders now within two minutes of Dumoulin- shaping up to be a great last few days racing.

Adam Yates back into the top 10, although massive kudos to Bob Jungels. He got dropped very early on, but still came over the finish line like he was sprinting for the win- great fighting spirit.

All that messing around has cut Nibali's lead over Pinot to just 24 seconds; I wonder if The Shark will come to regret this bit of gamesmanship

Looking at gc now, Nibali looks foolish for not pulling in the last few km, could turn a 2nd or 3rd into a 4th or 5th, if he's bothered. Quintana on the other hand just looked incapable.

Quintana doesn't deserve a podium spot and Nibali would only deserve it for his win in Bormio.
Quintana is so negative 99% of the time.

I'm wondering if Quintana felt he could win the Giro at 90% given the relatively lightweight field and tried to keep something back for the Tour. You would certainly expect him to do more against this level of competition on paper.

    Loved TD's interview.
"Would love it if they lose their podium spots."
Fantastic from Dumoulin. Just wish he hadn't jumped onto Yates' wheel when he joined them.
Nibali would probably be off the podium already if he'd let Yates go.
