Looking forward to the Vaughters tweet of what bottle he's opened to celebrate.
And would be great if this win is what Talansky needed in order to get back to being viewed as a GC heavyweight...

As an aside, best wishes to Blazing Saddles's family - a cycling traffic incident in the family was mentioned by Magnus B in the commentary. A look on twitter reveals it to be nasty but not critical.

A fractured cheek bone, hairline fracture to both sides of her pelvis.
Elderly bloke coming onto a roundabout off a dual carriageway.
    Hood ornament job.

    Ta.
    Much appreciated.

Gareth, her son, was driving the same route to a meeting, only to see his mother on the ground.
    Quite a shock.

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

Is it churlish of me to point out that my man Toms took a stage win for Cannondale at the ToC last year but it didn't count because it wasn't a WT race then? So this is really a result of the expansion of the WT to include the ToC and a bunch of other races rather than the team's performance somehow improving...

Not wanting to be a party pooper or anything, but taking a food item from a random stranger by the side of the road is just the sort of thing that ends up with something unpleasant, or worse still illegal in your system. Imagine if some righteous dude had baked up some hash cookies or some hygiene-phobic manages to pass on a tasty dose of e-coli - surprised Sagan is that naive...

It wasn't a random stranger. It was Phil Gaimon the ex Cannondale rider

This just made my day.

It's also good to see a few fired up fans in the US at a bike race, whether they're Americans or not. Loving the guy with the luchador mask and tube of meat.

    General Classification after Stage 5
    1 MAJKA, Rafal (BOH) 19:47:57
    2 BENNETT, George (TLJ) + 6
    3 BOSWELL, Ian (SKY) + 25
    4 TALANSKY, Andrew (CDT) + 44
    5 MORTON, Lachlan (DDD) + 49
    6 BOOKWALTER, Brent (BMC) + 1:02
    7 OOMEN, Sam (SUN) + 1:14
    8 GESINK, Robert (TLJ) + 1:31
    9 GEOGHEGAN HART, Tao (SKY) + 1:34
    10 LAENGEN, Vegard Stake (UAD) + 1:50

Today sees the 24km ITT stage around Big Bear Lake and Fawnskin. UK Cycling Expert better stay clear of innuendo today.

Any one of the above will feel their in with a chance, but the course is flat and going to be ft so time gaps aren't going to be huge. Live coverage expected to start at 2200hrs GMT.

The course really isn't flat. No big elevation changes, but there are a lot of short ramps which will suit a punchy TT rider rather than one who settles into a big gear rhythm.

Chapeau to Dibben. That's a proper solid neo-pro win. He's better than I thought he was.

    One down, four to go.

(At the start of the year Brailsford set his three neo-pros a target of getting five wins between them).

I find it very hard to enjoy watching the ToC due to all the stats and text rolling round the edges of the screen.

If it was different information popping up occasionally that would be ok, but to have the same stuff rotating constantly is pointless and distracting.

It's all action on the final stage, Lachlan Morton is a minute clear off the rest of the GC contenders with 40 kms to go. He's in a group of 6, the main peloton is down to about 25-30 riders.

18km to go and the gap is 50s. Lopez won't do any work though - Morton is looking to get back on top of the Best Young rider competition and he's only 8 seconds away from getting the white jersey back from his teammate Tao Geoghegan-Hart

5km to go and the gap is just under 40s. Going to be close

Huffman wins the stage from the breakaway. Sagan brings the reduced peloton across the line just a few seconds later, and in that group is George Bennett, the winner overall.
