Hi
Can someone point me in the direction of a good quality Helicopter Tape 3M that you have actually tried and found easy to apply?

I am looking for something that is softer and more malleable than the one I fitted to my old bike a few yesrs ago?

There are a Gazillion options on ebay, and not sure which one to pick? On ebay they do not explain if the tape they are selling is one that needs wetting or not?

Thanks

This seller has always worked for me - http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/union-mart-uk - as for ease of application, that's all in the preparation (I seem to recall that Union Mart UK supply a detailed instruction sheet).

At the end 3M brand helicopter tape is 3M brand helicopter tape - it doesn't come in different grades of difficulty to apply.

The 3M tape works very well. Make sure you use the UV resistant/outdoor version. Here's a recipe I found a few years ago to wet down the frame and adhesive surface of the tape before applying which allows you to slide the tape around to remove bubbles and position the tape perfectly. Thoroughly mix 4 drops of liquid dishwashing detergent (not soap) in a pint (1/2 liter) solution of 25% isopropyl* alcohol and 75% water. Use a spray bottle to apply and the tape should be dry and ready to use in less than 24hrs.

I don't have any knowledge of the tapes in the links. I've only used the 3M polyurethane tape. Could be quality stuff or just cheap imitations of the original 3M product. Ask if they're UV resistant which will last years longer.

Search for TESA 54994 on eBay. In my limited experience this is better than 3m.
