Shipping bike from Canada --> UK

Hello all. I am planning to cycle from Calgary to Vancouver this summer. Once in Vancouver, I would like to ship my bike back to the UK so I can continue travelling around Canada without having to lug my bike around. Does anyone have any experience or advice for doing this? It looks like it could be quite pricey...

    Where will you be flying home from? Are you taking your bike over to Canada in a cardboard box or proper bike case? Where do you plan on traveling in Canada after Vancouver?
    I'm in Canada but quite a few thousand kilometres from Vancouver so I may or may not be able to help.
