Hi,im looking to change the 53x39 Tiagra chainset on my winter bike to a semi compact Tiagra with 172.5 cranks.
Will this be okay to do and does anyone know where I can buy one from?
Thanks.

The Tiagra 10sp FC-4700 crankset is available as a semi-compact in 172.5mm crank length, do a web search for CRC/Wiggle, Merlin etc. to get the best price.0

Yepp, works very well together. I took advantage of the change and swapped the BB at the same time (I use Ultegra BB as it seems to work well on my bike, which is an Allez). I sourced mine through my LBS, can't remember how much I paid but, with fitting both, it all came to something like £100ish.0

Might even be worth considering the full compact. Given you are moving up to 10 speed from 9 you probably wouldn't notice any big jumps in between gears and the full compact would give you a bigger range for the hills0

I don't think the chap is moving up to 10spd, just sticking a 10spd crankset on to run with a 9spd setup. My 4700 is full compact...I did mull over moving up to 10 spd by stealth by replacing the odd component here and there as I went along but the next step has to be the full monty with brakes and shifters (+ RD and cassette) at the same time since the pull ratio is different...so I can't be bothered and will stick with 9 spd.0
