    Not a vintage Eneco

Which year was the vintage? Maybe ridgerider can answer that one.

What's missing so far? It's a bit like a 5 day test match, it is building up towards an exciting weekend with bonus seconds available all over the place.

You'd back him on a pan flat course.

He really doesn't seem to like hills in his TT courses.

Haven't the last couple of years been pretty decent. I think Wellens pulled off some decent solos to win and the parcour was good... this parcour has been made a bit more sprinter friendly.

He didn't do badly in the Olympics, given he also crashed.

Nice stage finish today. Break caught in the final metres and Sagan powers through for the win.

  • The big name sprinters in this race have so far been embarrassing.
Afraid to use any of their lead out to chase, then the breakaway gifts the stage back to them, but still Sagan won.

Sagan's too good, I'm getting bored of him winning all the time.

Great win by Sagan today.. Although I must admit despite having the afternoon off I fast forwarded a lot of this and just watched the end of it
  • Agree not a vintage so far, but the weekend's stages are generally the best two (including the one that finishes on the Muur Kapelmuur)

Best thing about that Sagan move, which also flatters him (slightly..) is he was always ins someone's wheel the whole time until the final 50m.

Boonen has crashed and was taken off to hospital - looks like a broken wrist.

The ToB time trial was quite lumpy.

Seemed to force the one rider (Groenewegen?) to brake when cutting through in front of him though. If that was Bouhanni he'd have probably been eliminated.

Twitter (@cyclingbetting) says not broken, and should be ok for the worlds.

Tennis seems to have taken precedence over cycling on Eurosport.

Tight, messy finish there. EBH looking to get some much needed points ended up playing pinball as he tried to copy Sagan's move from yesterday. Sagan pips Greipel in a straight sprint, blew away Kristoff too.

    Decent lesson for Goenewegen.

When Sagan moans about riders not showing respect, that's an example of why he moans (because when they do, the open the door for him to win..!)
  • I'm just pondering how certain individuals can (rightly) rave about Sagan, but then moan about the perceived dominance of Sky, as "being boring".

^It's the way the diesel train suppresses attacks that grates, I'd say.
I wouldn't call the riders individually as boring (this year in particular). Froome has the riding style of an excited 7 year old.

The dominance of the guy famous for finishing 2nd? He's only recently started winning and he's still often the relative underdog - he's not the best sprinter, or the best climber or the best cobbles rider etc.

No different from Movistar in the Vuelta - or Astana in last year's Giro

I just think it has become a 'thing'. And each one of Sky's team could do wheelies backwards down the Tourmalet and it wouldn't change people's views because the 'thing' overrides what they are actually seeing
