Weather looks to be tricky with Thunderstorms predicted to start around 1pm and last for a couple of hours.

ITV4 has coverage Live: 12pm-4.30pm so should get most of the early action

It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.

If we see Froomey and Ritchie up the road today, I can see a stage win and some bonus seconds being gifted to the little man. Looks like it's going to be an exciting finish, that's for sure.

The only thing we will see up the road before the final few kms is the breakaway and this:-

If there's lightning they'd have to neutralise surely? I certainly don't think we'll be seeing a great deal on TV

It's like you're wishing everything possible to happen to neutralise racing so your beloved team sky & Froome can do well....!

Looks like De Gendt is teeing himself up to get in the breakaway today.

At least the start in Albertville is bone dry, if overcast.
Yes, TdG riding to the fore.

Is it safe to cycle in lightning? It's certainly not safe to fly TV helicopters.

Anyway the weather looks decent at the moment

Unlikely to be struck by lightening while on a bike non? Rubber tyres and all that?

I thought some folks have felt they have been watching neutralisation for the last 3 weeks.
At least it saves them the trouble of wasting 4 hours, with the same result.

If it can make it from the sky to a car - it can make it from the car to the ground...!

    It's just unlikely. Period.

Because 1 inch of rubber clearly offers more electrical resistance than 2 miles of air !

If they let the break get an uncatchable lead again maybe they deserve a few (non-lethal) bolts of lightning.

But if riders and bikes are already soaking wet? Not an unlikely scenario in a thunderstorm...

Still not the most obvious target unless you're solo on a barren mountain, non?

That was quick to say the least.
Breakaway gone because all the usual suspects have made it, I suppose.

The problem is other teams expect Sky to chase the break, but it's against Sky's interests to do so.

Rick, we all know who tends to do well out of neutralisations, and it isn't Sky or Froome...

5 out of 6 mountain breaks have made it to the finish.
So something definitely not in common with Postal.

The breakaway already 5 minutes behind the slowest schedule.
    The bunch, closer to 10.
