TDF Cherbourg & Caen routes

My son and I are heading over for the first few Tour de France stages and I’m looking for some quiet and scenic cycle routes (we are leaving the car in Portsmouth). I need a route from Cherbourg down to Utah Beach for stage 1, and then from Utah Beach around to Bayeux and on to Caen. Can anyone recommend some good roads? Or whether there are local clubs that might be good for advice?
Many thanks

I'm interested in this as well. For Cherbourg to Utah Beach.0

In 'Cycling in Northern France' by Richard Peace & Andrew Stevenson, they have a route that takes in Utah beach from Cherbourg via Barfleur (44 miles). The route follows the Val de Saire (D120) and then the coast road (D421) south to Utah.
You could shorten quite a bit by missing Barfleur and cutting across to Quetthou insted.
They describe the way out of Cherbourg as a 'piece of cake' - turn left out of port onto a wide cyclepath.0
