Stop break pads locking when front wheel off.

Hello,
When transporting my bike sometimes when I take front wheel off the brake is pressed accidentally and the pads close and it's a pain to get something between the pads and wedge the Pistons open.
Any recommendations what I can put in between the pads when the wheel is off so they don't lock on?
Thanks
Matt

For Avids - looked up 'Bleed Block'
Except the link is a pad spacer, not a bleed block. That's the right thing. A bleed block is too wide - for using with the pads out.I don't do smileys.

Ask at your local bike shop, most bikes with disks come packaged with a spacer in the front calliper0

I've managed to find a piece of plastic that will fit in between the pads while the wheel is off. Will let yous know how I get on.

Or just learn not to pull the lever!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I've been removing wheels to put bikes with disc brakes in to my car for seven years now. I just do it carefully and it's not a problem.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Even if I do accidentally pull the lever, I take a flat screwdriver, twist it and done.-Cube Acid 29" 2013

Ignore him, we just let him play sometimes.
Bigger problem, especially if the pads are worn, is that the pistons can pop out of the calipers.I don't do smileys.
