Riding munch

Was out yesterday doing some training when it occurred to me I had no food an I was rather hungry. Now I fortunately have a bag that sits just behind the stem perfect for grabbing stuff from. Bar the defacto Jelly babies an fig rolls does anyone have any suggestions of sensible foods to munch while riding? Mentally I was able to carry on but the empty stomach told me no.

I generaly eat cereal bars when I'm out, pick up what ever is on offer at the shop.Advocate of disc brakes.0

Same as above. Or just jam sandwiches.
I have tried to make rice cakes but they were shockingly bad. Not sure if I had unrealistic expectations from looking at the pro teams chefs' creations.0 -
Jam sarnies should do the trick chopped in four an a wodge of jelly babies. I've got a Topeak top tube bag which should take them, I'll give it a whirl at the weekend.0

We go as far as a toasted teacake, and no further.
At a push, a bit of shortbread.
Never a bit of actual cake, too vomit-inducing for the blast home from the caff.0 -

Flap jack for me on a cake stop.
For general nutrition, usual suspects - fig rolls, soreen etc. Stuff like Clif, nakd, trek bars have a fairly long life and so can be good to keep one in the saddle bag for emergency use.0
