I'm after a road bike for my daughter (14 yr old, 5'3" but growing fast).
Ideally I'd like to keep the price as low as possible.

Looking around I can see btwin 500SE , Merlin PR7, Mekk Pinerolo SE 0.1

I have looked on ebay but tbh I'm not seeing anything that seems terribly good value and I suspect that the options above would make more sense.

The btwin and PR7 have good reviews, but I cant find any reviews for the Mekk.

Anyone got other suggestions?

The best road bike will be something that she likes riding - so let her decide...

At this age riders grow fast. This means that there are lots of good bikes being "grown out of". Are you in a local club, or if you aren't then I'd make contact and ask if anyone knows of anything suitable. For the money you might find a bargain.
  • Theres a nice small ladies Boardman for Sale on the Seacroft Wheelers Facebook Page for £300. Ask to join the group and have a look its only been out in the dry.
