SRAM push fit 92 bottom bracket

Cleaned my bike down today and noticed what I believe may be a fault as a result of poor fitting.
There appears to be a shim / lip / bearing casing which seems to be bent out in 2 or three places. Best way I can describe it is if you've tried to lift the lid off a tin of paint and failed!
I'll start by saying I'm not great mechanically great with bikes; I can change a tyre, replace pads, bleed brakes, adjust stems... But that's about it! Is this what it should be like or has someone had a mare fitting it?
There are a couple of splodges of grease around but don't know if it's leaked or was there from fitting. Bike is new and covered no more than 80 miles, I haven't been near the bracket / crank. Bike is a btwin rafal 740. drivetrain is all SRAM.
I suppose I want to know if this will cause me trouble if indeed it shouldn't be like that. Any comments appreciated.

Darn it, this should be in the mtb Worksop forum if one of the mods would be kind enough to relocate it?0

It's fine, it's the wavy washer that goes between drive side crank and the BB, as in the top right washer in this picture:-

Escher, you're a gent... I can sleep tonight!
Thanks, good job I didn't ring up to complain
I gather the waviness applies pressure to keep it all in check?0
