South West Coastal Route Tour

So a pal and I are going to do a leisurely tour from Ilfracombe down to Newquay in the summer. We are eschewing the camping option as we are old and decrepit so we're on the lookout for B&B's etc on the way. So far I've tried various websites including YHA and AirBnB as well as bookingdotcom.

Any sage suggestions ?

Are you riding down the coast A39 or following the NCR 3 as the A39 in summer might not be that leisurely in places?

There's a backpackers hostel in Bude which is about halfway (NCR3 Ilfracombe to Newquay = 110Miles)

Thanks for the advice.

We're sticking as close to the coast as possible with a mix of sustrans routes. Hopefully away from anything really busy.
