Hi, looking to get a Kinesis T2 as a winter frame but need some help with sizing as read a lot about people having issues with fit. I'm 6ft and ride a couple of 58 specializeds and the size chart suggests that I would be on the edge of the fit for a 57cm but most people seems to suggest you need to size down.

Anyone have any experience and can offer any advice?

I'm not sure this is advice as such as it may cloud things, but I ride a 57cm T2 and I'm 6ft 2 1/2". I have had Specialized Allez in the past and that was 58cm, as is my Scott CR1. The T2 top tube is fairly long and headtube shorter than 'sportive' labelled bike, so more of a race position. I use a 120mm stem and have to say it rides really well and is comfortable with 25mm tyres. Have you phoned Kinesis for advice? It may be worth talking through your measurements and use with them before deciding size.

Just a heads up that there is a size 57 Racelight 4S frame on offer in the classifieds

If you resolve your sizing issues that might be a good fall back option. You could ask the seller his height and inseam measurements

If you aren't sure, get a bike fit. I'd certainly think that a 57 would be too small for you unless you're incredibly bendy and fancy loads of spacers underneath your stem. I'm 6'2 and a 60 is ok; the 57 far too small.

    I have a 57 with a 100mm stem and I am 180cm. Seems alright for me.

I am sure you could get comfortable either on a 57 or the next size up by varying stem lengths etc.
  • I'm 6 foot 2 and have a 57cm Granfondo Ti and it fits like a glove. 110mm stem with just a 5mm spacer and the cone thingy. Had a FiveT before in a 57 which has the same geometry.

PS The kinesis outlet store has some good deals on frames if you don't mind minor paint blemishes etc http://outlet.upgradebikes.co.uk/Outlet/Kinesis-UK/Kinesis-UK-Range/Frames
