Flashing Lights Messing with Wireless Speedo

After having problems with a wireless speedo it was Chris Bass who pointed out that flashing lights on your bike can mess with the signal.
Well today I witnessed it in action, with the lights on flashing mode the speedo was reading 18mph whilst stationary.
Turning the lights off returned the reading to 0mph.
Repeating the whole process proved it was the lights that were messing with the speedo.

New bike...
And a GPS.0 -
Yes was the same deal with my Cateye Nano Shot light and my Cateye Micro Wireless computer - showing 12mph when stopped.
New bike is the only solution0 -

Otherwise it's a new bike.0 -
Just don't use the same light with Di2 shifting. You may find your gears have a mind of their own.....0

Had the same problem (not just when light was flashing, either). Decided that the speedo was pointless in the dark anyway so didn't bother me too much.
But I'm getting a new bike anyway just to be on the safe side...

I do have a GPS as well, but kept the wireless speedo for sentimental reasons.
Oh and I really like to have a cluttered handlebar as well, that's a real bonus!
I'll run the new bike bit past the wife.
It is nearly Christmas, so I think she'll understand.0 -

My Magicshine bike lights interfere with wireless speedos too, particularly when on the low power setting (presumably the dimming is done by PWM creating a lot of noise).
Coiling the excess cable around the stem probably doesn't help.
Do I need a carbon bike and stem reduce the interference?0 -

Turns out the interference occurs when the batteries are on the way out.
Probably something to do with the noise of the circuit having to draw more current.0 -
I tried wireless speedos once, they kept falling down when i dived into the pool!www.conjunctivitis.com - a site for sore eyes0
