Revelation compression damping not working?

Up at stainburn riding this afternoon when i noticed the compression damping has no effect whatsoever. Its a revelation rlt, 7 months old and recently serviced. Any ideas regards things i could try or check before inevitably sending them back and being forkless.

Does the feel change if you alter the T (threshold)?0

Yeah the floodgate seems to work. However the compression dial has no effect. I was under the impression the floodgate only worked once the compression was turned to its maximum, effectively locking the fork out.0

The floodgates always works. I had the same fork, the compression damper is extremely crude and only really works as a lock or open switch. Anything between lock and open is just nasty.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Ive bunged in 4 tokens in mine and it still dives under braking, cant seem to get it to ride higher up in its travel.0

Reducing air volume won't stop diving. Only a decent compression damper will do that.
Why does everyone think bottomless tokens fix all fork problems? All they do is increase spring rate progression.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I was under the impression it would decrease the dive with it becoming more progressive thus it requiring more force to move the same amount. However ill take your word for it as you are by far more knowledgeable than me. I was looking at the marzocchi 350cr , sorely tempted but should really put that money towards my course.hmmmm.0

Making the fork more progressive does nothing for dive. If anything you will be making the first third of the travel softer. You need more low speed compression damping to control dive.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Cheers. Off to gisburn tomorrow, will have to wait till christmas then i can justify getting.some.new forks as.a present to myself.0

Not sure I agree with some of that. I have had a few motion control forks. They work OK fully open or fully closed but in between they are harsh and inconsistent. There's a good reason why Rockshox made Mission Control, Black Box and Charger dampers.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
I get them to work fine. Including inbetween, noticable difference. They have tweeked it over the years, maybe some are ported a bit different.
The RCT3 uses the Black Box parts though (minus the titanium tube - which was crap anyway - it has the same HSC and damper set up).0
