Sram X1 11speed question..

Right, not sure if this should be in here or buying advice, so move if required!
So, im in the slow process of ordering all the parts i need for changing to 11speed.
Ive got my shifter (x1) and going for the x1 mech to match, and more than likely the XG 1180 cassette.
My question is about chains, as ill be staying with my Zee cranks and oval chainring (not been fitted that long) can i use the KMC SL11 chains? or do i have to go sram chains?
Cant seem to find anything definitive just says with the cassette the "recommended chain is PC-X1" but lets face it, they're gonna recommend their own chain aren't they!!
Any help please!?

Any 11 speed chain, KMC are the only ones with reusable links so very much preferred.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
