Hi all
The above just broke on my bike. I'm not sure if I'm calling it the right thing when googling to find replacement part but don't seem to be able to find one. Anyone have any ideas on where to find a replacement part fast? I'm desperate as I'm riding the ard rock marathon next weekend and need to fix the bike before then. (I'm glad the part didn't fail next weekend mind you..). Cheers

It's called an adapter.
You want post to post presumably. Depends what your rear is standard and what size rotor.I don't do smileys.

How did you manage to do that?
I've heard of people breaking the CPS (cup) washers but not the adapter.cooldad wrote:It's called an adapter.
It's usually called an adapter but Avid/SRAM have two types of adapters for post mounts, they call them brackets and spacers.

As it's only a OEM part these days, the Avid/SRAM 20mm Post bracket (adapter) has become a bit harder to find.0 -
I think what happened was one bolt came loose and fell off, the mount then collided with the disc rotor and bent in half! I know, I was surprise too. Weird thing wa it happened in my back garden when I was scooting the bike back to the lockup; just glad it didn't do it when hurtling downhill next weekend..0

And that is why it's important to learn to do up bolts properly!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Having a bit of a mare with this. Have received the adapter, but no bolts. I a one bolt missing! Can;t find the bloody things anywhere online and with work am really up against it getting to bike shop (which probably won;t have them anyway...) So I need a bolt and 'tri adjust' washers to go with 20mm post adapter on a 180mm rotor. Can anyone help? Thanks0

A local bike shop should be able to supply the CPS washers and the bolts.
Bolts needed are M6 x 37.5mm and M6 x 43mm.
To buy them as a kit, they are part number 00.5315.031.000
* I don't think this kit is readily available anymore as the 20mm Post bracket is a OEM part.

Good bike shop, iron monger, engineering workshop so many places you can get a replacement. For me it would be a good tool shop.0 -
Thanks for the replies guys. I've been reading that flat washers are just as servicable as the cup ones; I need adjustability so the pads don't bite. I will be trying to get down my local handi centre for the parts. Cobba, how come the different length bolts? I assumed they were both the same length on the rear calipers? I'm not replacing the front ones. Thanks0

Probably because one end of the adapter is thicker then the other end.
