SLX vs Deore Brakes

Hi, have an opportunity to pick up a set of SLX brakes for £20, the front brake is in great condition and excellent working order really powerful but the lever has snapped on the rear after an impact with a tree. Is it worth repairing the SLX for about £10 more than a brand new Deore (new lever and bleed) or using the front SLX and buying a brand new Deore for the rear.
Also, if I went for the latter option is there a big difference in the lever feel of the brakes? I don't think I'd get on with different shaped levers on each brake.

Or another option is just buy the working front for £15 and buy a brand new rear SLX brake for £45 taking overall brake cost to less than a brand new set of Deore.Framebuilder

The front is a steal for £20 whatever you do at the rear!
I'd either get a new rear lever (bought new or 'pre-loved') and fit that (bleed yourself!) or look at getting a good complete rear, whatever works out cheaper (given if you get a complete set you'll have the rear calliper as a spare!).Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -
The performance of SLX vs Deore is identical. The difference is SLX are a tiny bit lighter due to more expensive materials and SLX have extra lever adjustment.
I wouldn't bother to change them but maybe get them as spares for that price.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
Saying you wouldn't bother to change them when he doesn't say what he has now seems a bit strange!Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
