Grip shift struggling to change

Been out on our bikes all this week, and the Missus was having issues with hers today, its the decathlon 340 and the grip shift seems to have misaligned. So where as the numbers used to be on top, they've now slipped underneath. Probably caused by how stiff they were to change today, she kept having to hold the shifter on to get it to move crank/cog.

Is there a simply way of fixing this? I am extremely new so apologises if above isn't accurate terminology! looking to get on a maintenance course whilst I am off, although managed to fix a few issues this week whilst out and about just by remembering what I used to do to my old Raleigh Mountain bike.

The should be a little hex key which tightens it to the bars. Twist it back and tighten it up. Mine have all been either 3 or 2.5mm keys.
  • Cheers, will give that a try then. You probably see this a lot with green bikers but I was a bit scared to start fiddling with stuff I didn't understand.

    Thanks
