Is this a worn cassette?

Hi guys.
Bike has done about 40 miles in total but this looks like a worn cassette to me??!!
The chain was dodgy but have replaced the broken link. Any way a chain could have caused this so quick? It's an sram cassette. It changes gears fine, but there's always been a bit of a 'rough' noise when peddling although I may just be looking for things that are wrong. It's kind of in my nature!

Sorry on my phone so can't post a proper image.
Any advise welcome.
Thanks
James.

Can an SRAM cassette be that bad? After about 40 miles??
Complain or just get a better one myself?Daddy, Husband, Designer, Biker, Gamer, Geek

Does it work is the only question you need to confirm. If it does, it's fine0

What looks wrong with it?
Looks perfect. Tooth profiles vary, to aid shifting and what not. Nowt wrong with that.0 -

Really? I thought each tooth should be the same shape? Some of mine look like they're worn and form more like little shark fin shapes.
But this is why I asked on here before saying anything to the shop.Daddy, Husband, Designer, Biker, Gamer, Geek

Each tooth should not be the same shape (on any decent cassette), they are formed to aid shifting, if you want cruddy shifting you can have a pre HG or IG cassette and it will be horrid.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
