    Could have told you that at the beginning. Konig has much better three week results than Porte and that was riding for a lightweight team.

    These train riders really do give everything before they pop don't they? Even allowing that they are straight into recovery mode the second they drop off.

    Porte had earned his chance, he's just failed to take it. Given his early season form there was no way he could be overlooked.

    Maybe but you 100% need to have Konig as protected rider in a three week race. Also, one week stage races are easy compared to three week races. Holding top flight form from Jan to now is also very tough.
