race face evolve crankset

I've seen a double and bash evolve crankset which is cheaper than the single ring equivalent. As I already have the chain ring I'll be using, I can get the cheaper set and discard the rings and bash, can't I? Or am I missing something here!?

    And gives the right chainline......doubles are not always e best bet as the larger ring is outside the nominal chainline.
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
