My new (to me) Roubaix.....

I picked up a 58cm last summer, which I've had to tweak with shorter stem etc to get right, but after seeing this one at a bargain price, decided to change to a 56cm.
Treat it to new Ultegra Chainset & Brakes, and will upgrade./tweak further as the summer arrives.
Yet to ride in anger due to damn snow !

Liking the Ksyrium wheels, and have just fitted new tyres - some Giant 'Armadillo' type jobbies that a new LBS has said are great, and good value @ £15 each. Jury's out on the reflective strip for now, altho it is growing on me. No biggie to change in the summer if they're crap.

Nice bike. I do like the all black Specialized frames, and those zert seatposts are supposed to be great.

But boy you have your handlebars high.

Yeh I need to sort out the stem & insert I think, I certainly dont like em too low but they may need tweaking.
As I said, havent ridden it yet ! Pesky weather........

Must admit, with the Zertz, and the CG-R seatpost, and 25c tyres, the Roubaix is an armchair to ride, relatively !

Ps - it doesnt reside in my kitchen permanently :-)

Looks like you'd be better off with a flat-bar hybrid....

While no doubt a lovely bike to ride, it doesn't do it for me.
The stem and Zertz are just a bit too much

  • Good luck with it Zak!

It kinda looks like it's been set up to help you make the transition from the larger frame you had?

Lovely frame all the same, I think the roubaix leaves lots of options open.

    Have fun with it

Thx TT : Still havent been able to ride it yet, so its not 'set up' at all in reality, - I did flip the stem over to 'upward' bias, as thats how it was on the 58, but there's also a shim inside the stem that takes a little off the height, or ultimately, I could flip it downward.
But as I say, with no riding it as yet due to the snow & ice we have here, i'm scuppered for now.

Matt - not all of us are 'racer's' ya know - some of us like the damping effect of those zertz.....
Imposter - move on ?
