Winter Bib choice for the worst of winter Gore/Catelli

I have a set of Gore Oxygen Windstopper bib tights that were damaged in an accident.
I'm looking for a replacement set for the worst of conditions and was considering the Gore Oxygen or the Castelli Soprasso. Are there any others at around that price (under £150) with the windstopper material I should be considering?

Thanks

Assos make great bib longs but at crazy prices. I bought a pair of Castelli Soprasso from SportPursuit today for £90 which may be just the job for you?

Worth hunting around for any deals. I have the 851 variety and they are great for keeping the weather out but there isn't much "give" in the material so they are quite hard work

After some very helpful advice from bendertherobot recently I bought some of these but got wiggle to price match them.
Only used them once but it was a windy day with temps about 2degrees and they were fantastic, never too hot or too cold and the pad is the best I've used. Problem now is that he's getting me hooked on castelli gear!

ASSOS factory outlet - bibs with no insert - wear favourite bibs with insert underneath:

    Sizing is height dependent.

Those are great bibtights, very warm and beautifully made. But the colour! Oh my eyes.

This seems a good price and they have my size. Are they reputable and it seems quite a long lead time - Feb 5th for delivery?

Yes they are fine. I have bought a few things from there, but once you add postage etc, it can add up, plus the wait.

105 from castelli café and arrive the following day. Plus SP have pretty rubbish returns policy (no idea what the warranty cover would be)

  • £105 for non windstopper

    £115 for windstopper

The latter are better, at really cold temps, but the former are still fantastically toasty.

    (They really are utterly lovely).

The gore they are replacing are windstopper, so, would prefer like for like for the worst of the weather up here.

I have Sorpassos which are great, plus the now discontinued Fluido Nanoflex, which have Stratoflex membrane as on the Polare - much stretchier than Gore Windstopper and still my go-to horrible weather tights. Stopped paying silly money for Assos years ago..
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..

I have some Gore Oxygen which are amazingly warm but the fabric is not very strechy so can be a bit of a pain to get them on. The advantage over the Castelli ones is that you can buy them without a pad, if you want to, and therefore wear them with some decent shorts if you prefer or for a few days in a row.

Sportful Bodyfit Pro Thermal Bibtights. All you need for £70. I haven't found the lower limit of their warmth envelope yet (but then, I've only got down to -7C ambient so far this year).

Got a set of Sorpasso Bibs with the windstopper for £113 from Pedal & Co which arrived in 2 days. Good service.

I'm a Medium in everything else I wear including an alpha jersey from Castelli but recently got a set of Castelli Aero Free Bib Shorts in medium and after one wear on the rollers realised they were a bit short in the leg. I went for the Large in the Sorpasso and the fit is perfect.

Lovely on and really do feel top quality on the bike.

Anyone want a set of Castelli Aero Free Bibshorts?
