Rear Mech problems

hello, i installed a new rear mech on my bike put the chain back on. haven't done the gear cable tension yet. only problem is that my mech is touching the frame of my bike! is this normal :oops: i took a pic to so you all can see

No there's a little tab that the b screw of the mech butts up against.I don't do smileys.

It looks like you have bolted the mech to the hanger without the B tension screw in the right place. It should look like this:
Notice where the screw contacts the bottom 'hook' of the hanger.0 -
It's nothing to do with the B screw - the problem is that when bolting the mech to the hanger, you failed to hold it in the right position as you tightened the bolt.
Loosen the bolt that joins the mech to the hanger slightly, rotate the body of the mech clockwise (as viewed in your picture) until the two little stops allign (about 45 degrees from where it is now) and tighten fully whilst holding it there.0 -
The 'bracket axle unit' which attaches to the derailleur hanger should be in a more horizontal position instead of being in a vertical position.
