hi

i have just smashed my forks on my cervelo r5 fwd 2013, does anyone know if the 3t fund team fork will fit (i think the rake and steerer are the same) and would be a good choice?

thanks in advance

Damn sorry to hear that and yes those forks will be fine as a replacement

  • Is that because you sneezed whilst riding?

  • err not quite, i flicked up a scaffold bracket that must of been left on rd and it wedged between my wheel and fork while doing about 25 mph......suffice to say i came off worst in the situation.

second ac separation on the same shoulder in the year, this one felt worse as i wasn't on my way home from the pub

  • so my r5 has a tapered fork 1-1/8 x 1-3/8 inch......does anyone know if i can source forks with these dimensions? Is my frame effectively trashed because i can't buy direct replacement forks?

Surely enough R5s cracked at the bottom bracket that there must be some spare forks on the market?

  • Hope you don't think I'm hijacking your post but I have the same problem - my daughters Colnago CLX 3.0 needs a new fork after a pothole encounter, they are available (same as a C59/C60 apparently) but at £530. Can't believe there isn't another alternative.
  • It is inevitable when you buy trendy equipment.

When I buy a bike, I tend to budget for these eventualities, as I seem to break a lot of stuff... can I get a replacement part if?... which is the reason I tend to stick to tried and tested technologies and standards, possbly missing out on the latest trend. When it comes to steerers, you either go for the non tapered or for the most commonly available taper 1 1/2 to 1 1/8, otherwise you are going towards a dead end.

OP, have you checked if there are shims available?
