Building a tubeless wheelset
Right,
Looking into building my own wheels.
It's something that I have been wanting to try for a while and with the dark winter closing in, seems like a good opportunity.
I'm looking to build something tubeless with a high spoke count and serviceable hub for my winter trainer.
Does anyone have any advice as to which components?

My suggestion,
Velocity A23 Rims, Ultegra 6800 Hubs, Sapim Laser front spokes, Sapim Race rear.0 -
My suggestion:
Miche Primato Sintesi Hubs
Alexrims AT490 Rims 32 H.
64 Sapim Race spokes or 32 Laser Front.0 -
Archetypes, Sapim race, brass nips, and either Hope Pro2EVO if you like cartridge bearings or Shimano if you don'tFacts are meaningless, you can use facts to prove anything that's remotely true! - Homer0

Interesting that they are all different bar the spokes.
I currently have a set of Archetypes with a low spoke count and Miche Primato hubs for normal use. They are very nice to ride. From what I understand, they should also be relatively easy to build?

A stiff rim is easy to build, yes, IF it's round when you start.
Regarding the rims:
The Alexrims AT490 is one of the very few loose rims recommended by Schwalbe for tubeless,

These rims are only 20 pound or so, so you can build a cheap wheelset with them....

If you like the Archetypes I would certainly use wider rims again.0 -
i'm thinking the Alex rims would be a good budget pair matched with serviceable Shimano 5800 hubs?

Shure, why not?
IF you like those hubs.....
The main reason I don't like the older Shimano 105 and Ultegra hubs is the design of the freehub.
When the tiny balls & races wear out you can throw it away.
It isn't very well sealed and one winter can destroy your freehub and they are relatively expensive...
I don't know about the newer hubs, maybe they're better.0
