Small chip on frame

Hello all,

I have a small chip on my frame which has gone down to the metal (alloy frame). What is the best course of action to take to protect it? I was going to put a very small amount of clear nail varnish on it just as a protective layer - is this wise? Should I not do it? Is there a better thing to do?

Would anyone be able to answer the questions I have?

Clear nail varnish is ideal - apply helicopter tape to prevent further stone chips
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
  • get a close match of paint, and just touch it up...if you go to a decent paint supplier they may even be able to get a perfect match
