Hello, can anyone help with a recommendation for some Road Slicks for a 29er and where I can get some from..
Current Tyres are 29 x 2.125 . Its on a Cube Acid Pro 2014.
Need to get fit on the road after an op, and SWMBO won't let me buy a Road bike/Bike :-)
Thanks!

29 = 700c, so take your pick. Probably best going no narrower than 28c although 23s or 25s will fit fine. Conti Gatorskins are a good cheap option. Or GP 4Seasons or 4000s for a better quality tyre.0

I was looking for the same last week and came across these for £15 each online from Millets.

Good tyres but will break your thumbs/tyre levers when it comes to fitting. I've got a pair of 25c Gatorskins on my 29er wheels on my road bike.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -
Thanks Guys!0

They were a tight fit and needed a bit of soapy water but I got both on in about 10 minutesFig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
GatorSkins on the way, now dumb question but will I need new Inner Tubes for this ?0

Yes, No and it Depends.
Yes you should use the correct size innertubes but.
No you might be able to use your 29er tubes but it might be a struggle to get all the tube inside when your fitting it and you might end up with a wobbly tyre.
Depends on how big your tubes are if they are monster truck 2.4s forget about it if they are say 1.75 to 2.00 you'll probably get away with it.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0 -
Not in a 25 you won't, madness even trying! Just get new tubes.0

Agreed, you can get away with about 1/4" out (say 1.75-2.15 in a 1.5") but not anything MTB inside a 25mm, just not worth even trying.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0
