I was in London this weekend with the family in tow playing the tourist (I live in Devon normally) and happened to walk past what I thought was a LBS. I tried to walk in as you do but the door was locked (security reasons I imagine) however I was quickly let in by a guy. Well, as soon as I went in I could see this was NOT the place for a public sector pauper like me. It was full of the most beautiful kit and clearly well beyond me. Despite that the very kind shop assistant/equipment guru showed me around taking time out to explain what they did and their plans for the future. To be honest I felt like Julia Roberts in that scene from Pretty Lady :) if I win the lottery I may well return and treat myself. The shop was Bespoke Cycling on the Faringdon Road and I'd just like to say thanks for being courteous to a country bumpkin.

If anyone uses this place regularly then I am envious

  • I've been past that place a few times never been inside. What do they sell/do then?

Bespoke sell a lot of high end bikes and equipment. I think at first they were most known for their association with Parlee, but they also do Colnago, Pinarello etc as well as some smaller US builders. The Farringdon shop is spread over 2 floors with lots of very nice bikes on the lower floor. They also do bike fittings, nutrition advice etc. http://www.bespokecycling.com

They also are opening or have opened a shop in the Docklands and recently had a pop up shop on Jermyn Street in the West End which has now closed but are due to open a permanent shop on the same road some time in September. This could be dangerous as it is only 5 minutes from my office !
  • Yeah I've only been there once and I agree, they sell very good (expensive) gear and kit but are very friendly with it!

Worth having a mooch around if you're into your high end bikes
