advice on changing crankset
Good evening,
I bought a compact sram red crankset to replace standard that came on the bike.
I googled the frame and it seemed to suggest that it was a bb30.
So I bought a bb30 crankset.
The chainring side of the one I took off had the spindle part attached to it.
The new one I went to put on is attached to the non drive side, and is much thicker, hence doesn't fit.
So I assume Ive bought the wrong type, does that mean it should have been the GXP version / is there a way to tell?
Or am I doing something silly?
Thanks!

Hi mate,
The GXP spindle is 24mm and a BB30 is 30mm spindle.
Look at the bottom bracket and the cups on there will indicate what type it is. Was it a SRAM chainset on the bike originally?

thanks for the reply,
I came across this thread whilst googling stuff
viewtopic.php?f=40004&t=12938889
Which seems to leave me with an option of popping in a press fit bb30 which seems to get a really bad review and keep the crankset I have, which was my preference til I saw the reviews or go and get a GXP version which seem a lot more money!0
