Ever since I was about 14 I have wanted to own a Bianchi bike. My young head was turned by a bike I saw in Jackie Connor's bike shop in Glasgow - a vision in celeste green - and an itch developed that I have finally decided to scratch. Like many on here, I have more bikes than I need, but let's face it, where bikes are concerned, it is often more about 'want' than 'need'. I have my Allez as a faithful first bike and loyal poor weather ride. I have a Ribble GF which I will continue to upgrade and turn into as light a bike as I can practically make it - although I don't race this will be my 'fast' bike for club chaingangs and occasional TTs. And now I have just hit the BUY button for a Bianchi. I don't need it to be a race bike, a sportive bike, a training bike or whatever, I just wanted to own a celeste green Bianchi and derive great enjoyment from riding it as the mood takes me. I don't envisage putting a computer or GPS on it because when I ride it I will be doing so for pleasure and nothing else. I opted for an Impulso with Veloce groupset so it is not top end by any stretch of the imagination but will sit very nicely in my stable and serve its purpose.
I will post pics in the appropriate place when it arrives.
I am a long way from 14 now (about 30 years) but, strangely, about as excited as a 14 year old waiting for it to arrive.
This must be how women feel about shoes and handbags.
